The Month of March. All around downtown New York.

March 17, 2008 – 2:47 pm

Yoo guyz, this past month I have been walking around with my Christmas present GR1 RICOH old school camera, some film my buddies hooked me up with at the little Camera shop I frequent, and downtown NY by my side, capturing everything around me. Here is a photo story of March 2008 New York City life…In Chelsea on 10th ave and 21st street. This building reminded me of the house in the great film, “The Royal Tennenbaums.”   Across the street is the tight shop Printed Matter. It specializes in zines from up and coming artists to the household names. When I went in I read all of Mark Gonzales works. Printed Matter also has a wide range of art books and magazines. It is worth the trip northwest to visit here.Courtney baby sat Lizzy Trulie’s dog. He was mad cute. His name?… Homework.   Lower East Side Reflections.  A bunch of kids rolled to Isabelle’s birthday party in Chinatown.  The spot reminded me of an abandoned Bar Mitzvah jump off. Erin and Courtney.    Heron’s spot is also in Chinatown.  His house has kind of become the melting pot of kids from all over.  LA, NY, SF, and Paris all get represented in here.  It is cool to have all these creative minds from different areas kickin’ it together. Alex P, Nick D, and Carly. Dave Moshe. Charlie. Kasey and Alex.   Marc by Marc Jacobs in the West Village is all ready for Spring.  You can get a polaroid taken with the skunk, and Magnolia Bakery is right next door.  Also the spring collection of Marc by Marc is tres cute. The West Village has the most beautiful light around 4 pm, if the sun is out.  Spring in this area is the best.  March also brought a lot of rainy days to New York.  But it was ok, because Lucien picked up a Ford Bronco from Long Island.  Having cars in the city is so much fun.  Especially for the summer time, it will come in handy for road trips and adventures.  Not to mention, artists like Lucien can transport their works in the trunk. March was a mad cool month…  Looking forward to what spring and summer will bring downtown. Peace, Tracy.
