Cooool Points! Dana Veraldi
May 12, 2008 – 12:29 amI met Dana a couple of months ago through a mutual friend and artist, Kenneth Chau. He put me on to her shirts and I thought the idea was pretty sick. It was like a breath of fresh air to find someone working with an original idea within an over saturated and boring t-shirt market. As graphics and the ideas for t-shirts these days have become more and more generic, Dana brings excitement back to the game with her own illustrations of her friends and people + places she admires. She takes her everyday friends, idolize’s them and people buy them! I think it’s interesting how once one of Dana’s friends make it onto a t-shirt they are instantly famous in the eyes of the general public if they aren’t already, like model Agyness Deyn for example. Every shirt she makes is hand printed and her artistic approach from taking the photo of her friend, to drawing them on a piece of paper and transferring that to screen is what makes these ultra special. Like super ultra. I’ve printed before and really enjoy it, but know how much of a bitch it can be. Luckily her prints are only 1 color(black) so it’s not that bad, but I’m requesting a 2 -3 color gradient LAGIRLSNY special run so Dana get ready.
