Cai Guo-Qiang at the Guggenheim!
May 18, 2008 – 1:43 pmOmaima and I went over to the Guggenheim on Saturday to check out Cai Guo-Qiang’s work. I’ve been hearing about his work for the past couple of weeks as everyone has mentioned it as simply amazing. On display he has an explosion of real cars in the main hall, a replica of a pack of wolves and tigers. Gun powder drawings and a scene of life size , very detailed clay figures. He even imported tons of water into the museum which was transformed into a river with a life sized 1 person boat that one can use to pull their way through the exhibit and view the work from the boat. The guard told me that people have actually fallen into the water! It was awesome that we got to walk around and embed ourselves in between the actual work as if we were apart of it. A must see before the show ends May 28th!
